Part of the Grizzlies giving thanks throughout the week of November, Tony and Ed provide food to approx. 500
Memphis Grizzlies players Tony Allen and Ed Davis gave back to the community by donating and distributing holiday food baskets to 500 families at Ed Rice Community Center (2907 N. Watkins St. Memphis 38127) for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday as part of the Grizzlies’ Season of Giving on Thursday, November 7th from 4 – 6 p.m.
The food baskets included turkey, macaroni and cheese, stuffing, green beans, cornbread and brownie mix. The distribution of the food among all the boxes was assisted by Big League Movers and other volunteers. “With the assistance of all these great volunteers this event was our smoothest ever,” said Daniel Peterson, Coordinator with the Memphis Grizzlies Healthy Home Court and Fitness programs. The Grizzlies organization is extraordinarily grateful for all the volunteers’ help and focus.
The Memphis Grizzlies will be spreading holiday cheer across the City of Memphis as they prepare to give thanks this week and throughout the month of November. Grizzlies players, coaches, family members and staff will team with community partners to make a difference in the lives of children and families by hosting several charitable events throughout the Thanksgiving month to give thanks to the City of Memphis.
