Grizz Week began Thursday, October 24th with the 2013 Read to Achieve Tip-Off sponsored by International Paper at Bruce Elementary.

All-Star Reading Team members Jerryd Bayless, Ed Davis, Kosta Koufos and Quincy Pondexter, along with Grizz and the Grizz Girls, were on-hand to take part in an event that has become a staple of the Grizzlies community efforts every season.  Thousands of young students across the Greater Memphis area participate in the reading challenge each year in order to teach them the importance of education and how much fun it can be to read outside of the classroom.

At the conclusion of the challenge participating students and schools are invited to attend the Read to Achieve Celebration sponsored by International Paper at FedExForum. The All-Star Reading Team, Grizz, Grizz Girls and other guests attend to congratulate students on their achievement and encourage them to keep reading as an important part of their on-going education.
