National Mentoring Month is full of events

Events to celebrate and thank mentors as well as raise awareness of the need for more mentors

January is National Mentoring Month and the Grizzlies Foundation and its TEAM UP campaign are joining the National Mentoring Partnership in the celebration of mentors because mentors in Memphis are inspiring youth. Additionally, it is important to build awareness for mentoring through hosting events and encouraging adults to spread the word to friends and colleagues, referring them to this website, and connecting to our facebook page.

  • Monday, January 17th -Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day game Memphis Grizzlies vs. Chicago Bulls, 12pm at FedExForum. Honoring a local mentor from Youth Villages though Grizzlies Mentor Monday.
  • Tuesday, January 25th- NEXUS Leadership Lunch to Celebrate Mentoring featuring Memphis Mayor AC Wharton and Elliot Perry, 11:30-1pm. Tickets $25. See for tickets.
  • Monday, January 31st- Mentoring Night Memphis Grizzlies vs. Orlando Magic, 7pm at FedExForum. Also honoring a local mentor through Grizzlies Mentor Monday.
  • Monday, February 7th- Mentor Monday, Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Lakers, 7pm at FedExForum. Honoring a local mentor.
  • Exclusive Tour of Stax Museum of American Soul Music for members of TEAMmates. Date TBD in early February.
  • MMP Mentor Enrichment with Terry Ross of the Efficacy Institute on the Positive Power of Language to Motivate Students. Date TBD in mid-February.
  • Recruitment events with East Memphis Kiwanis, the FedEx African American Network, Leadership Memphis, AutoZone and the Northeast Shelby County Rotary Club.
