Program staff attending the recent MMP Quarterly Networking Breakfast on April 21 had an opportunity to discuss ways to incorporate visual and performing arts activities in their mentoring programs. Most youth served by the mentoring programs in Memphis have limited access to these experiences, and MMP and the Grizzlies Foundation want to facilitate activity options for children and their mentors. We are currently developing a partnership on behalf of MMP members. Watch for more news as details are developed.
MMP members are invited to network with other organizations offering youth mentoring, to share resources, and discuss program management. Quarterly Networking Breakfast meetings provide an open forum for ideas, suggestions, concerns, and new issues facing mentoring organizations.
While the morning’s agenda features Memphis Mentoring Partnership news, topics of interest from MENTOR/The National Mentoring Partnership, and opportunities to participate in coming events, there is time for program leaders to meet each other and learn about other MMP programs. Networking sessions have yielded valuable suggestions for future training or mentor enrichment, mentor incentives and recognition, and information about new resources or technical assistance MMP members can use to build and enhance programs.Share
