The Grizzlies drafted the youngest person ever Sunday and he proceeded to take leadership of the team for a day
Charvis Brewer, 8, had a wish to be drafted by an NBA team, and not just any team-his favorite team, the Memphis Grizzlies.
On December 29, his wish came true when he was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies and in so doing became the youngest player ever drafted by an NBA team. Mike Conley presented him with a jersey before he joined the team at practice at FedExForum. Charvis received a tour of the locker room and then was given honorary coaching duties after being presented a whistle by Coach David Joerger and Zach Randolph.
Charvis boasted an impressive knowledge of the team and made his own calls as to who should play where, what substitutions should be made and what plays to run.
Charvis will attend his first game - Grizzlies vs. Bulls on December 30, 2013. #MakeAWish #GrizzNation
