Photo Memories of Staxtacular 09-looking forward to Friday

Posted by Eric Bleier on March 23, 2010

Staxtacular 2010 is this Friday, March 26. Here's a photo illustrating one of my favorite things about the event.

Staxtacular is essentially a free-flowing cocktail party with awesome food. In addition to the food, drinks, and silent and live auction, there are the hosts-this year Rudy Gay, Mike Conley and Zach Randolph.

There are very few opportunities during the course of the season for Grizzlies fans to get a chance to meet Grizzlies players and coaches. So don’t be surprised when you are walking around the history-laden Stax Museum if you see Mike Conley and Rudy Gay munching on some of the food, or members of the coaching staff eyeing the silent auction items.

Don’t be afraid to walk up and introduce yourself! Get that picture with some of the players that you can post to your Facebook page or email around to all your co-workers. Or ask the players or coaches about the rest of the season. Or ask about what their plans are in the off-season. Or which hotel they prefer staying in during road trips.

Or if you are me, you ask how our introductory video stacks up to other teams’ intro videos. Being sort of competitive, I want to know if we have one of the cooler intro videos in the business.

I really like ours but I don’t have anything to compare it to. I like the imagery of forging a team with the shots from what looks like the Metal Museum. Naturally the highlights are cool. But I especially like the song (“On a Mission” by Q da Kid if you are wondering. Yeah, I bought it).

Just a few ideas of what you could do this Friday night. Tickets are still available. Visit or call 901-261-6385.
